Recently, our Co-Founder, tasked with an enormous mandate to hire an Executive level role for a Vision Fund company “darling” noticed something missing with Candidate communications on the Candidate side. Less than 10% of interviewing Candidates send a thank you note. Say what?

Near to no follow up is being done to reaffirm skills and desire for the role and the only chat is about money. That is it. How odd when most American citizens spend more time with co-workers than family and friends. We are not an automated dashboard, not yet – so why not tap into your human side and commence building a relationship and reaffirming who you are and what you bring to the table?

A great example, sharing anonymously here, it was refreshing to read an extremely thorough 5 paragraph long follow up email from one of our leading Candidates who has such a glowing pedigree, the person naturally steps to the front of the line. The follow up was not only the right thing to do but also helpful for leaders with hectic schedules and short time spans for attention.
